Ear Tubes

After countless trips to the doctor for ear infections over the past year, Jack got tubes put into his ears on Tuesday morning. We had to be at the outpatient surgery center by 5:15 a.m....it was pretty brutal. Jack was really brave. The nurses said he never made a peep, not even when they took him back to the surgery room. I was nervous because he got put under with anesthesia. The surgery went well, and everything appears to be on the right track. I am just grateful that he won't have to endure painful earaches anymore!

"Go Away!"

It is unbelievable how much Jack is talking. He literally repeats everything we say....I mean everything! He is so funny. When I'm laughing at something he said or did, he scrunches his nose and says to me, "Jack is funny!" He has been doing this thing lately where he commands someone to "go away!" and then immediately regrets it and says, "come on" while motioning you in for a hug. Tyson got it on video...

Visit with the Schwartzman Family

We went to visit my cousin Jaimie, her husband Ed and their adorable baby girl, Avery a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time and it was nice to take a family road trip. Jack was unbelievably sweet with Avery. He wanted to be around her at all times, and even shared his favorite blanket with her. (Don't get any ideas, he's not ready for a brother or sister just yet!) I am truly proud of the little boy that Jack has grown into. It brings tears to my eyes how quickly he is growing up..it is such an internal struggle as a mother to find the balance between wanting to keep them your little baby and surrendering to their fight for independence. I can't imagine how my parents ever let me drive or go away to college!

Jack likes to call Tyson and me by our first names. You can hear him calling for Tyson in the background of this video..

Trip to the Science Center

My friend Tara and I took our kids to the Science center a couple of weeks ago. It is so much  fun to take Jack on these outings now that he's a little older, because he really gets into exploring new things.

This pic was taken right after Jack first saw the life-sized T-Rex....it began to roar & he looked at me & said "scary!"
They have this really cool laser harp...you run your hand under the lights and it sounds like you're plucking the strings of a harp.
