I'm Gettin' Somethin' for Christmas

We had a great Christmas Eve and a wonderful Christmas morning. We had both of our families together last night and it was wonderful. Jack loved all of his gifts. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our friends and family, and thank you for following the progress of our family! Love you all!

Visiting Santa

On Sunday me, Jack, my Mom, Sophie and Kristen went to visit Santa at Plaza Frontenac. Despite having to wait about an hour in line to see him, it was actually a good time. When Santa first came out, he jingled his bells and all the kids got excited and started screaming. On the way to his post, he stopped and said hello to every kid waiting in line to see him. Jack and Sophie were adorable. Jack gave Santa a high-five and "knucks". I was so happy because I thought I had caught it all on camera but when I went to review the clip, it hadn't recorded because of low battery. I fretted about it for a while and then I realized- it's great to have things on film and on the blog, but the memories that matter most are the ones in my head! Santa also lead everyone in singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"..I was impressed by his theatrics!

Here he comes.....

I attempted to pose the kids in front of this cute bear. They weren't into it to say the least!

Jack got a little restless while waiting to see Santa. He needed to run around and blow off a little steam...

I ran in front of them to get this shot. I wish I would have captured a little more of Sophie.

 Still waiting...
Finally! They were both ready for a nap by the time they saw him. Jack just stared at him and Sophie was her usual quiet self.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Although I missed being with my family at my cousin Jaimie's new house in Indiana, it was great to see Tyson's family and have a relaxing weekend at the farm.

Jack got several rides on the golf cart with Grandma and Grandpa. He loves it!

Jack has been saying a new word almost every day. I have to say, it is amazing to see the process of a baby learning to talk....not to mention that it's VERY entertaining! Here is a clip of Jack on the car ride back to St. Louis. Aunt Emily and Aunt Sarah sat in the backseat with him and were amused by all of his chatter.

After we got back to St. Louis, we went to my parents' house for an encore meal. My Grandma came back to St. Louis after Indiana and stayed for a week, so it was great to see her. We have gotten to see Sophie quite a bit lately. She absolutely loves being around Jack and smothers him with love (I love the choke hold and the look on Jack's face) :)
