Grant's Farm and other fun..

Tyson and I took Jack to Grant's Farm yesterday. He really enjoyed the tram ride, the goats and checking out the clydesdales. It was Tyson's first time at Grant's Farm and I think he had a great time. Jack was extremely tired by the end, but it was nice to have an afternoon out as a family. Later in the evening, Jack developed a high fever of 102.2. He didn't sleep well last night. His temperature was lower this morning, but I can tell he's still not himself. I stayed home from work today to be with him, so hopefully a little TLC from Mom is all he needs! I'll keep you updated...
In case you were wondering, Jack's cheek and lip were attacked by mosquitos in the back yard...poor beebs!

Riding on the tram.

This is the cutest video I have taken to date.

Check out the Buffalo in the background!

After walking through the mister....ahhhhhh!

Pucker up!

About two minutes after getting into the car.

I got Jack a table and chair set from Target on Friday. He has really enjoyed pushing the chairs, one by one, into different rooms in the house. Here are a few pictures I took, right after he saw his new set for the first time :)

And another cute one for good measure!

My Baby Daddy

We had a Happy Father's Day yesterday. Tyson got a Bass Pro gift card, and I made a two-tiered cake with homemade chocolate frosting. We went over to my parents' to celebrate with a b.b.q. My dad was really happy to have everyone together.

Here are a few reasons why Tyson is the most wonderful father in the world:

1. Bathtime jam sessions every night- Tyson plays his I phone playlist every night while he gives Jack a bath. It's almost like story time, but with rock & roll and country classics.

2. Acrobats with Dad- I might tickle and flip Jack upside-down but lets face it, Moms are more gentle. Jack loves messing around with his Dad, and Tyson gets him laughing so hard. There's just something about rough-housing with Dad.

3. Mornings with Dad- Tyson takes Jack to daycare on the mornings that I work. It's nice that Jack and Tyson get to spend a little morning quality time together before starting a busy work day. I think as Jack gets older, Tyson and I will especially remember those stolen moments of closeness.

4. Daddy's nicknames for Jack- Tyson has an array of endearing nicknames for Jack including but not limited to: Little Buds, Sport, Sporty, Champ, and Buddy. He responds to any of these names :)

5. Playing in the backyard- Tyson takes care of our garden on a daily basis and he likes to bring Jack out with him. I love to peek out the window and watch him holding Jack while he's watering, or b.b.qing, or pushing him on the swing. Jack is just like his daddy- he loves being outdoors.

6. Reading with Dad- Tyson has a newfound appreciation for Dr. Suess books. We even joke around sometimes and make up our own rhymes. Having a child definitely makes you reflect on your own childhood memories.

7. Poop patrol- Not that Tyson enjoys changing diapers (does anyone?!), but he's not afraid to take on the real stinkers....believe me, I appreciate that!

8. Daddy calms Mom's fears- Tyson calms my totally irrational fears on a daily basis. I tend to be a worrier- "Does he have a fever?!", "Will he get his head caught in the crib railing when I'm not looking?!", "Did that cough sound serious to you?!"...and the question Tyson is probably the sickest of- "Do you think he's o.k.?" Marrying a laid-back man was truly a wise choice on my part.

9. Laying on the couch together- About two weeks ago I witnessed the cutest thing I've ever seen. Jack had just woken up, and I laid him with his bottle next to Tyson on the couch. Jack reached his arm over and put it around Tyson's shoulder, and layed there for a good 20 minutes. I took a mental snapshot and will freeze that memory in my brain forever.

10. Unconditional love- The transition from boyfriend/girlfriend, to husband/wife, to dad/mom seemed very smooth for Tyson and I. It is amazing how quickly it went from the two of us being the most important person in each other's lives, to our family being the most important thing to both of us. We agree that the unconditional love we have for Jack is something that will never change. Watching Tyson be a father has no doubt made my love for him grow deeper. Jack is the best thing that ever happened to us!

Hot Child In The City

Jack and I went to the City Garden with Aaron, Al, and Hope Reinberg last Saturday. I had never been there before, but it turned out to be the neatest place for a little kid. There are in-ground fountains that shoot sporadically, large sculptures for kids to climb on, and tremendous views of downtown St. Louis. Jack had a great time. He was slightly hesitant to stand too close at first, but he became fearless after a few minutes. I can't believe how quickly he is growing and learning. I remember when he was a tiny baby, I used to think, "I wish he would do something exciting already!" Now that he is in non-stop movement mode, I can't keep up! Guess he taught me a lesson on that one :)
I love the drool hanging off of his chin in this one :)
Jack and Al running around a sculpture...Catch me if you can!
I took this video right after we got there...

I'm pretty sure you can tell he's having a blast :)

Caroline and Jackson sitting in a tree....

I babysat Caroline on Thursday and we had a great time. I thought that I may be frazzled by the end of the day, but Caroline was a really good girl. Although Jack kept pulling the bow out of her hair, they got along really well! Here are a few pictures of these two cutie pies :)

Jack has been taking a real liking to Kobi these days...

Memorial Day

The Roberts crew headed up to the farm for Memorial Day weekend. We all had a great time......especially Jack! He played outside from the time he woke up, until the time he went to bed. He ate every meal outside. It was wonderful to see that he loves the farm as much as we do :) Here are a few of my favorite pictures."Take me for a ride RIGHT NOW!"
I think this one is my favorite :) He looks so big!Forever dragging his golf clubs around...
"Hmmm. What can I get into next?"
Suzi Kohler was chasing him around, and he really enjoyed it.
Eating homemade vanilla ice cream.....YUUUMM!
Some people just aren't cut out for life on the road :)
