Jack Frost

Our first family Christmas was one for the books! Tyson and I had both of our families over on Christmas Eve and split Christmas Day between each side. Jack was the center of attention, and he loved it. He wasn't too interested in opening gifts. He was more interested in tearing up tissue paper. Either way, Christmas was so much more fun with a little one around!

I wish that Jack was in this picture, but he was taking a nap.

My sister got Jack his first pair of Nikes for Christmas. They are so adorable on him!

Christmas morning

Santa brought Jack a soccer ball, basketball and football. I think that Tyson is enjoying having them around more than Jack is. Tyson bounced the basketball around the house most of Christmas Day :)

Tyson and I think he looks like a LumberJack in this outfit...hehehe!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Great Grandma Carol sent Jack a bear for Christmas. He was pretty excited about his new toy!

Jack recently decided that he doesn't like wearing bibs. It's a little inconvenient because he has been drooling a lot lately. I think that a few more teeth are about ready to sprout. Here are a few pics of him trying desperately to get his bib off. This one was a little trickier, because it goes over his head.

Jack got a few early Christmas presents from his Aunt Debbie. She got him a trike, a bowling set and a t-ball set. We put them under the tree for now, but he has been interested. I think Kobi has even come around!

We had a girls' dinner at my friend Abby's house on Wednesday. Although Jack isn't looking at the camera, this is an adorable picture of him and Caroline. What cutie pies!

Today I helped put up my parents' Christmas tree. I found a pair of antlers in one of the boxes and tried them out on Jack. Judging from these pictures, he didn't mind. I think he's really feeling the Christmas spirit!

Giggleville: Population One

I hope that the sound works on this video, because it's one of the cutest things I've ever seen! I was feeding Jack lunch the other day and I sneezed. He started laughing hysterically so of course, I had to sneeze five more times to really enjoy it. Of course I loved it when Jack was really tiny and would let me hold him for long spans of time. Although that is a distant memory, I am loving this new phase. I am getting to know him more and more every day, and I love it.

Santa Claus is IN Town!

My Mom, sister, Jack and I went to Chesterfield Mall on Monday to get Jack's first picture with Santa. It turned out pretty cute. Jack didn't cry at all, he just kept looking up at Santa and staring. The picture below was taken while we were waiting to see him.

Jack has recently taken a liking to the Swifer. He crawls into the kitchen, pulls the Swifer out, and pushes it back and forth. He can help me clean any time he wants!

My parents took all of us out to Uncle Bill's for breakfast on Saturday. Jack tasted French Toast for the first time. He also ate eggs and bacon, which he stored in his cheeks for about 20 minutes, only to spit out on Pop Pop! My Mom fed him a bottle and cuddled with him before they left.

Jack has been trying to pull himself up on the second shelf of the bookshelf, as you can see. He is getting more and more determined to explore every day. Tyson took these pictures on his phone.

Rollin' With The Homies

Jack and I went to my good friend Aaron Reinberg's house for a playdate yesterday. Abby and Caroline came too. Jack could not get enough of Aaron's cats. I guess he is just used to dogs. We had a great time!

Jack drinking from Al's sippy cup.

Apparently, Jack wasn't in the mood for pictures

Do I already need to start telling Jack to take his finger out of his nose?

Good friends

Farm Trip and Thanksgiving

The Roberts' crew had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We ate a lot and laughed just as much. Jack tasted almost everything from Thanksgiving dinner. He liked it all, but Pumpkin Pie seemed to be his favorite.

Aunt Sarah got in on Wednesday and Jack was obviously excited to see her!

My Mom and sister helped me set up our Christmas tree last weekend. Tyson was outside raking leaves, and Jack couldn't take his eyes off of him. He crawled up to the window and stood on his tip-toes to see him. The pictures below are from that day.

Below are some pictures from our weekend at the farm. I can't believe how big Jack looks in some of these!

Next Stop....Whistle City

I woke up Sunday morning when I heard Jack moving around in his crib (I'm convinced that mothers develop Supersonic hearing while pregnant). I stood by the door for a couple of minutes and I heard him whistling. I am so excited that he can whistle already! It took me 18 years to finally whistle, so it's nice to see that he has already surpassed me. He has been whistling ever since Sunday.

We put up a few baby gates around the family room. They worked for a while, but Jack has figured out how to move them now. He puts his fingers through the holes and leans his entire body on the gate until it moves or clicks. I have to admit, it's pretty impressive to watch. He gets a very determined look in his eye.

Aunt Sarah and Cousins Jaimie and Ed are coming to St. Louis today. We are very excited to see everyone. Jack has grown so much since their last visits.

I am looking forward to Jack having his first Thanksgiving meal. He has been eating a large variety of food lately, and is still a very good eater. He is not a chubby baby by any means, so it seems like all of the food that he eats only contributes to his height. Dr. Spewak predicts that he will be "long and lean"...just like Tyson!

We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Eat a lot, drink a lot and laugh a lot!

Better About Blogging

O.k., o.k. So we started the blog and I haven't exactly kept up with it. I have decided to start being better about posting. It will be so much easier to post pictures and comments here, rather than trying to keep up with sending pictures to everyone. Jack is into absolutely everything that he can get his hands on. He is walking with the aid of his push toy, and is still maneuvering around the furniture. Two days ago, he stood with his back leaning on the couch without the support of his hands...I can sense that he is going to walk any time now. My friend Abby and I laugh because you can't wait until they reach their next milestone but as soon as they do, you realize how much more work it is going to be to protect them. I am guessing that it only gets harder from here!

Jack now has seven teeth. Honestly, it is funny to see him with top teeth. I feel like he looks so much older.

Jack loves to laugh and giggle. He continues to make what we call his "chucky face". He scrunches his nose and snorts/laughs. It's one of my favorite things that he does. He is also making an "uh-oh" face where he puts his mouth in the shape of an "o". My parents started calling it the "o" face, but my sister and I put a stop to that quickly...you'll know why if you have ever seen the movie Office Space.

We went up to the farm last weekend. It was opening weekend for deer hunting, so Tyson and his buddies were anxious to say the least. It is always great to get away and relax up there. Mark and Debbie were so happy to be able to spend some time with Jack. It will be so much fun for him when he can run around and enjoy all of the space the farm has to offer!

Well, tootles for now. Until the next entry my friends....

Welcome to our blog. We will try to keep you up-to-date with what's going on with the Roberts' crew. Recently, Jack has been crawling EVERYWHERE! He loves to crawl towards any wires, cords or shoes that may be within his reach and immediately chew on them. He has been giggling a lot and has been really interested in Kobi. Kobi has been very patient and loving. She may be finally seeing a bright side to having a baby in the house- more attention! Jack has been snorting and crinkling his face when he laughs. It's pretty much the cutest thing we've ever seen!
